David, wonderful work! I've been itching to do personal/artistic but get stuck in the same rut (urban dispair/travel work. Where do you get your inspiration for diverse projects?
Would love to work together sometime.
Best,
J

Thanks for your note, Jason. I don't really know where my inspiration comes from, it just arrives, on its own schedule. I do know I surround myself in images of all kinds as often as possible. In retrospect, it seems clear to me that these images are heavily indebted to the work of Ives Klein, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and Fabien Baron but I'm not thinking about them when I make them.

In Paris just now, we saw an exhibit by Yves Klien, much allusive to these photos....a square of deepest blue....and we though of you.
